1. Slice your green tomatoes very thin, and add plenty of salt and pepper.
2. Dump the flour into a mixing bow. Dip the tomato slices in the flour until each slice is covered thick.
3. Now it’s time to deep fry. Do every bit of it in hot oil, preferable in a cast iron skillet, until nicely browned.
4. Drain the fried slices on baking paper.
5. When all the slices are fried and drained, empty the skillet of excess cooking oil.
6. Now add your cream (or milk) and add 1 tbsp. of flour to thicken.
7. Stir in melted butter, salt & pepper and blend thoroughly.
8. Add your 1/2 tsp. of salt along with a bay leaf. Stir.
9. Pour this entire mixture over your browned tomatoes in a large bowl.
10. Prepare to serve your Dakota Fried Tomatoes.
